Bread-line

glossary · noun

A queue of the destitute waiting for free provision; by extension, dependence on the distributor rather than participation in production. The essay uses the image in deliberate contradiction — the worker lured into dependence, and the worker fed by the very capital formation the political class claims credit for — mirroring the fiat order's own contradictions.

And yet, the political class busies itself to maintain the illusion of control, luring unsuspecting workers to the bread-line while squeezing every ounce of economic fortune from the baker.

As used in: fiat-masquerade
