Root and Cable

fragment · 63 words

After thousands of years of collective evolution,
Alongside birds and beasts of all kinds,
Why are we so intimidated by the wild?

We slash, we burn, we pave the land,
Through forest and ocean, lay cable and line,
In an effort to conquer, control, occupy,
That which is sacred, organic, sublime.

We run from our nature, til two worlds collide.
